Here's how it works...

Films are shown outdoors, on Friday and Saturday evenings after sunset, on a screen located on the east side of the Newport Performing Arts Center building.

Sound is broadcast via FM radio. In order to hear the film, you’ll need a working FM radio inside your vehicle. (Pro tip: You may want to bring a portable radio!)

Films are screened rain or shine, unless weather or other circumstance interferes with visibility or poses a danger to you, the PAC staff and volunteers, or our equipment. If we need to cancel the screening due to weather or technical difficulties, it will be rescheduled and we will contact those with reservations via email.

Attendees must remain INSIDE THEIR VEHICLES at all times (except to visit the outdoor restrooms). This means that "Back of truck" viewing and top-down convertible viewing is not permitted.

Those with advance parking reservations may enter the Newport Performing Arts Center parking lot beginning at 8:30pm (please use Olive Street entrance only, near the front of the building). On arrival we’ll identify your vehicle using the license plate information you provided, then you’ll be guided to a parking space in the film viewing area. Please follow all instructions from our staff and volunteers, and drive slowly.

Due to the height of our screen, parking for SUVs, Minivans, Vans, and Trucks is in the back row.

Sedans, coupes, hatchbacks, sports, and compact cars (under 64") will be guided to the front rows. We encourage you to arrive in a small, low-profile vehicle as parking for vehicles over 64" tall is very limited. High-profile vehicles and commercial vehicles will not be admitted.

Films start once everyone has parked and the sun has set (approx. 9:15pm).

Please note that parking reservations must be made in advance and will not be held past 9:00pm.

We cannot currently accept donations in person.

By attending, you agree to comply with the following regulations:

Attendees must practice social distancing, maintaining a 6′ or greater distance between themselves and those not in their parties at all times, and must remain inside their vehicles except in case of an emergency or to visit the restroom (one person at a time – please do not congregate). This also means, at least currently, no ‘back of truck’ viewing. Please note that as our building is currently closed to the public, only the outdoor restroom (near the playground) will be available.

PLEASE NOTE: A Social Distancing Officer will be on site, to ensure all attendees remain in their vehicles, do not congregate, and comply with social distancing measures. Those not in compliance will be asked to depart. (Please don't spoil the fun!)

Masks are not required within your own vehicle, provided windows remain fully closed. However, if you wish to open your windows, masks are required (except for those aged 2 and under). To help with social distancing, we encourage you to open only the windows on the South side of your vehicle (the side facing the playground). If you are unable to wear a mask due to medical reasons, we ask that you leave windows up.

You are welcome to bring food, drink, and concessions with you to be consumed in your vehicle, but we ask that whatever you bring in you also take back out. That is to say... take yer' garbage home with ya'.

Vehicle parking will be arranged to allow for any vehicle to depart at any time throughout the evening. Please drive slowly, and follow all parking directions and instructions from our volunteers and employees.

Thank you for your interest in donating to the OCCA to help during this difficult time. Please note that you can donate at any time, and you do not have to reserve a parking space to make a donation to support the arts in our community.  To donate to the OCCA without requesting reserved parking, please click here.
